This is not a self help book. This is a self discovery book. The author provides a resource to understand how your brain or "inner voice" reacts and processes life. The author provides insight allowing the reader to flip that switch inside to change the negative "critic" to a positive one. This book isn't hearts and flowers. It is an awareness that yes life can suck at times but if you respond in a positive way -understanding your whole life isn't bad- the sucky part isn't devastating just inconvenient. "Putting your imperfections to work for you." Easy read with a few self reflection exercises. The author is relatable and direct.

Monty is a phenomenal family therapist and has helped us immensely as we try to navigate through turbulent times. He shows great insight and understanding into family dynamics and the need for everyone to be heard and understood. My family wouldn’t be where it is now without him.

Monty is not just a professional listener. From our first session he was so refreshingly engaged that I felt like someone was there to truly work with me and understand the entirety of me. On any different day I may need a different style of dialogue, and he naturally knows how to steer our practice into something productive. Sometimes he's there to listen, sometimes he shares stories from his own journey, and so often he will ask the tough questions that really pull out insights and feelings that I did not know exist. With his help I have made so many huge transformations in every aspect of life, from my romantic relationship to my professional goals. Life is better since I met Monty.
